About

KissCAM V2.0 is a miniature camera built for small satellite engineering and outreach applications, such as monitoring the deployment of solar panels, antennas, or booms, and capturing publicity imagery from orbit. It builds on the simpler KissCAM V1.0 architecture with a higher-resolution 1280 x 960 pixel image sensor available in colour or monochrome variants. The camera supports M12 lens options along with optical filter choices, allowing configuration for different fields of view and imaging needs. It communicates over a 115200 baud UART interface with selectable RS422 or RS485 signalling, drawing approximately 70mA from a 3.3 to 5V supply. The unit is compact and lightweight at 10g and 38 x 20 x 17 mm, and is rated for operation across a -20 to +60°C temperature range, suiting it to the thermal extremes of low Earth orbit CubeSat missions. KissCAM V2.0 has documented flight heritage across multiple commercial missions, as referenced in the manufacturer’s photo gallery. It is offered starting from £1600.00.
