About

The Mantis imager is a compact solution for advanced multispectral or hyperspectral imaging, specifically designed for CubeSats as small as 2U. It offers powerful imaging capabilities and integrates large, high-speed data storage to support demanding missions. The imager is available in RGB, Multispectral, and Hyperspectral configurations. All configurations share a physical size of 1U (65 mm x 90 mm x 107 mm), integrated mass data storage of 128 Gigabytes, and support RAW or J2K lossless or lossy compression. Data interfaces include LVDS and SpaceWire, while TMTC interfaces are SPI, I2C, CAN, RS422/RS485. Power usage is less than 6W in imaging mode and less than 4W in readout mode, with a 5V DC power supply. It operates between +10°C and +30°C and survives temperatures from -20°C to +55°C. The product has a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 9. The RGB version offers a spatial resolution (GSD) of 16m at 500km, a swath of 32km at 500km, and uses standard RGB spectral bands with a snapshot imager type. The Multispectral version provides PAN 16m and MS 32m GSD at 500km, a 32km swath at 500km, 6 x MS spectral bands, and is a push broom imager. The Hyperspectral version also has PAN 16m and MS 32m GSD at 500km, a 32km swath at 500km, 96 x HS available spectral bands, and is a push broom imager.
