About

The NanoAvionics SRS-3 is a low-power, full-duplex S-band transceiver designed for telemetry and telecommand (TM/TC) on micro- and nano-satellites. It operates on ITU space operations S-band frequencies (TX: 2200–2290 MHz, RX: 2025–2110 MHz) with integrated filters, low-noise amplifier (LNA), and power amplifier, requiring only passive external antennas for complete RF functionality.

The SRS-3 is highly configurable in-orbit: adjustable transmit frequencies, bit rates, output power levels, and framing options can all be tuned via telecommand. Transmit symbol rates reach up to 512 kbps with Automatic Level Control (ALC) maintaining output power accuracy from 20 to 30 dBm. CAN-bus and RS-422 interfaces are implemented using the CubeSat Space Protocol (CSP), and an Ethernet interface with IP routing is also available.

The unit weighs just 190 g and accepts wide input voltage from 5 to 40 V, making it compatible with a broad range of CubeSat and SmallSat power systems.
