About
JACK is a compact pin-puller actuator from Nimesis Technology built on their SMA platform. It delivers a 10 mm pin stroke with 30 N pulling force and resists over 50 N of shear force, activating within seconds of electrical command. The device covers an extreme temperature range from -120°C to +120°C, making it suitable for deep-space and polar orbit environments. It is user-resettable without ground support equipment, enabling multiple test cycles. JACK is intended for deployment mechanisms on satellites and rovers, providing a pyrotechnic-free alternative for release applications requiring a small linear actuation stroke.
