OrbShield™

OrbShield™ is presented as the first single-panel solution designed to offer comprehensive protection against radiation, thermal challenges, and debris for next-generation space systems. Its primary purpose is to block radiation, spread heat efficiently, and stop debris, all within a single lightweight structure. A key feature is its ability to enable the use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) electronics, such as GPUs, FPGAs, and memory, in space environments ranging from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to cislunar space, thereby eliminating the need for extensive rad-hard overhauls. The product is fabricated using Additive Manufacturing Composite Materials (AMCM), which contributes to fewer parts and faster builds, as it can be installed without the need for traditional blankets, straps, or custom shields. Use cases include protecting AI edge compute systems in orbital AI datacenters for extended life, reducing shielding weight by up to 50% for GEO Comsats to allow for more transponders and fuel (leading to increased revenue), and extending the life of solar arrays in GEO and beyond by adding OrbShield to their backside. The product is currently sampling, with a standard size of 1U and custom sizes available upon request.
