About
The Propulsion Thruster Drive Mechanism is a one-degree-of-freedom electromechanical device designed to rotate a unit consisting of three propulsion thrusters around a single axis within a specified angle range. It holds the thruster unit securely in the transportation (stowed) position during the launch phase and performs operating temperature control of the propulsion thrusters. The mechanism provides precise pointing of the thruster installation surfaces, rotating them across a range of ±10.5° at a controllable rotation rate of 0.08–5 °/min, with a pointing error not exceeding 5 arcmin. It develops a nominal torque of not less than 20 N·m. The unit is rated for an operating temperature range of -50°C to +50°C and an operational life of not less than 14,000 hours, with an active lifetime of 15 years and an overall guaranteed lifetime of 19 years. It has overall dimensions of 520 x 390 x 300 mm and a mass of 7.3 kg. First released in 2003, the product has a guaranteed service life of 15 years and an estimated production/delivery time of 4 months.
