About

The Reflector Transfer Mechanism is an electromechanical device with two degrees of freedom, designed to transfer a reflector boom from its stowed transportation position to its operational position. After deployment, it also provides precise pointing capabilities for the antenna reflector. Its primary purpose is antenna deployment and alignment, ensuring optimal performance for communication or sensing payloads. It was released in 2013 and boasts a guaranteed service life of 10 years, with an active lifetime of 15 years. The estimated production and delivery time is 6 months. It can achieve a readjustment/rotation angle of ±90 degrees for each axis with a slew rate of 0-60 degrees per minute. The measurement error for the rotation angle is not exceeding 1.5 arcminutes. It develops a torque of at least 50 N·m for each axis and has a self-braking torque of at least 20 N·m in a de-energized state. The mechanism operates within a temperature range of -40 to +50 °C and has an operational life of not less than 140,000 hours.
