About
OPTIMAS is a satellite mission led by Reflex Aerospace to advance cyber-secure laser communications for European defence. Reflex is responsible for space segment studies and design, including satellite platform development, manufacturing, testing, and laser communications payload integration, while playing a supporting role in launch-related activities and overall system testing. The mission is being developed for Navantia (via its monodon program) with support from the European Defence Fund, positioning OPTIMAS as a key project in European sovereign secure-communications capability. OPTIMAS is expected to launch in 2028.
