About
Saft’s MP (prismatic) and VL (cylindrical) rechargeable lithium-ion battery series are qualified for demanding space launcher applications. The MP cells feature a prismatic form factor while the VL series uses a cylindrical format and is available in Power (P) and Very High Power (U) variants. Both series offer high nominal capacities and long cycle life across a wide operating temperature range.
Safety features include an electronic protection circuit, a built-in circuit breaker for charger fault protection, a safety valve, and a shutdown separator. The batteries are rated for charge between -20°C and +60°C and discharge between -50°C and +60°C, suitable for the extreme environmental conditions encountered in space launcher missions.
