SmartPayload para satélites flexibles
SmartPayload is a software solution by GMV for managing and optimizing SATCOM payloads on flexible satellites, including VHTS and software-defined payloads, designed for dynamic scenarios.
About
SmartPayload is a comprehensive software solution from GMV designed for the operation and management of flexible SATCOM payloads, particularly for Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS) and software-defined payloads in dynamic scenarios. The solution comprises two main components: Smartrms and Smartpcs. Smartrms focuses on SATCOM capacity management, mission planning, and resource accounting, identifying the best ground/space segment candidates for service. It supports multi-satellite, software-defined, and classical payloads, optimizing satellite resources for multi-user traffic, including contracts and priorities. Smartrms generates ground and space segment configuration inputs, performs detailed link budget calculations, and optimizes with realistic satellite and ground segment models, including interference, noise, and propagation models with ITU checks. It supports mobile stations with beam handover, ‘follow-me’ beams, and beam hopping, and allows real-time adjustment of satellite resource power and bandwidth. Smartpcs provides end-to-end real-time SATCOM payload operations, including reconfiguration, monitoring, dynamicity, and fault recovery for individual satellites or fleets. It offers homogeneous operation configuration, easily scalable for fleet growth, and simultaneous multi-mission/multi-user payload management, allowing for leasing/splitting of payload resources (beams, bandwidth, power, service area). Smartpcs handles flexible and steerable satellite antenna reconfiguration, transparent digital processor (DTP) functions, thermal and DC current checks, and an on-ground operations scheduler for payload configuration orchestration, compatibility analysis, tracking, and monitoring. It also includes fault detection and recovery, on-board power/spectrum measurements, payload configuration monitoring, and an automatic and unattended payload command interface with Satellite Control Systems (SCC) and Resource Management Systems (RMS). Both components are fully interoperable with major satellite manufacturers and prioritize secure operations and alarm generation.
