About
The Solar Array Drive Mechanism Type 1 rotates solar array wings at a specified rate, transmits electrical power and control/telemetry signals, and generates shaft rotation angle signals. An electromechanical SADM with continuous rotation capability, it supports output shaft rotation rates of 0–16 deg/min with 3° angle measurement error. Total current-collecting capacity is 280 A across 25 power supply circuits (20 at 7 A + 5 at 28 A) and 22 telemetry circuits. Dimensions 210 × 230 × 275 mm, mass 5.3 kg. Released in 2010, 140,000+ hour operational life, 15.25-year service life, 12-month delivery. Adaptable to customer requirements. Flight-qualified on Express-AM5 and Express-AM6.
