About
The Solar Array Drive Mechanism Type 2 rotates solar array wings at a specified rate, transmits electrical power from rotating solar panels, and routes control/telemetry signals. An electromechanical SADM with continuous rotation, it provides 0.083° angle measurement accuracy (high precision), up to 0–8 deg/min shaft rate, 84 A total current across 12 power circuits, and 26 telemetry circuits. Dimensions 240 × 160 × 300 mm, mass 13.2 ± 0.8 kg. Released in 2013, 100,000+ hour operational life (10-year active lifetime), 13.5-year service life, 15-month delivery. Customizable.
