About
Teledyne Defence & Space designs and manufactures Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) using LDMOS, GaAs, InP and GaN technologies, generally producing custom designs to customer specifications. The SSPA product line provides output power from 100W at module level to multi-kW at system level, covering frequency bands from UHF through to Ku-band. State-of-the-art thermal management and unique highly efficient coaxial power combiners allow designs in smaller form factors with improved reliability compared to travelling-wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs). GaN technology is used in pulsed applications up to 18 GHz, and Teledyne has produced linear CW amplifiers with tens of watts up to 31 GHz using GaN. With over 20 years of SSPA design experience and extensive use of ATE (Automated Test Equipment), Teledyne supports customers from initial specification through to high-volume production. Applications include satellite uplink terminals, satellite transponder power amplifiers, radar transmitters, and EW jamming systems. All design work is in the UK for non-ITAR supply.
