About

The COBRA Gimbal is a 3DOF (azimuth, elevation, thrust) pointing mechanism that implements the Canfield Joint carpal-wrist design to provide precise, full-hemisphere pointing capability. It utilizes a precision-manufactured parallel linkage joint system to achieve high repeatability and high precision with low size, weight, and power (SWaP) impacts. This gimbal provides continuous, singularity-free pointing without inducing cable twist/wrap, and eliminates the need for slip rings. The COBRA Gimbal mechanism can be readily scaled and customized to fulfill specific mission requirements. Two featured models are the COBRA-HPX™ and COBRA-UHPX™.
