The Two-degree-of-freedom Device for Antenna Pointing Type 2 is a flight-qualified two-axis electromechanical drive for pointing spacecraft antennas to mobile and immobile users. It provides ±11.5° rotation per axis at very low slew rates of 0.00016–0.083 °/min with 90 arcsec pointing accuracy and 70 N·m minimum torque. Large form factor: 855 × 725 × 233 mm, mass 21 kg. Released in 1985 with 5-year active and guaranteed service life, 6-month delivery time.
