About

The Two-degree-of-freedom Device for Antenna Pointing Type 3 is a flight-qualified two-axis electromechanical drive for pointing spacecraft antennas to mobile and immobile users. It provides ±11.5° rotation per axis at slew rates of 0.00016–0.083 °/min with 90 arcsec pointing accuracy and 50 N·m minimum torque. More compact than Type 2 at 565 × 500 × 210 mm, mass 13 kg. Released in 1988 with 5-year active and guaranteed service life, 6-month delivery time.
