About
The Xiphos Q8 Optical Payload Processor is a daughterboard designed for the Q8 processor card, enabling integration with high-bandwidth video or imagery streams for remote sensing and Earth observation missions. The board facilitates execution of high-performance image processing algorithms on both the Q8’s ARM processors and its substantial FPGA fabric resources.
The board provides two Camera Link interfaces (Base and Medium configurations), which can alternatively be configured as LVDS connections, giving mission designers flexibility in camera integration. RS-485/RS-422 serial interfaces enable communication with camera heads and other payload instruments, while PPS input/output signals support precise timing synchronization with GPS receivers.
Heater power control and temperature sensing functions are integrated directly on the board, simplifying thermal management of optical payloads in the space environment. Xiphos provides a Camera Link IP core to accelerate FPGA development for customers implementing custom imaging pipelines.
