The Hall-Engine-Based Electric Jet Propulsion System (EJPS) developed by Yuzhnoye SDO is designed for spacecraft orbit correction, attitude stabilization, and interplanetary flights. Using xenon as the working medium stored at up to 13 MPa, the system delivers Hall thruster thrust between 1 and 66 mN with an exceptionally high specific impulse of 2,200 to 22,000 m/s, enabling significant propellant mass savings compared to chemical propulsion for long-duration missions. Total thrust impulse ranges from 50 to 1,000 kN·s depending on propellant load. Power efficiency is 16 to 20 W per mN of thrust. The system is well-suited for small to medium satellite orbit raising, north-south station-keeping at GEO, Hall thruster-based orbit transfers, and deep-space missions requiring high delta-V with limited propellant mass budget.
