About

The Z7000 is a powerful system-on-a-chip based payload computer with a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MP-Core with NEON SIMD and integrated FPGA logic with 125K programmable cells. It is a suitable choice as a payload computer for missions requiring high data rates and processing capabilities, offering a broad range of interfaces including LVDS/SpaceWire and up to 1 Gb Ethernet, plus traditional OBC interfaces such as CAN, RS-422 and I2C. Space Inventor recommends the CAN bus as the standard control interface for commanding and telemetry.

For storage of payload-generated data, a mass storage memory system is included with capacity up to 64 GB eMMC. The processing platform consists of a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 unit assisted by a NEON media-processing engine and a single/double precision Vector Floating Point Unit. The supported operating system is FreeRTOS, though Linux can also be implemented. Control software enables secure reprogramming of the application, including reprogramming of the FPGA logical blocks, with a fallback system in case of failure.
