About

The Axial Grooved Heat Pipes are two-phase (vapor/liquid) hermetic closed evaporating/condensing thermal transfer systems for spacecraft equipment thermal control. They transfer up to 450 W·m, have outer diameters of 6–20 mm, and lengths up to 3.5 m (or 6 m by special order). Working fluids include Toluene, Ammonia, Propylene, Ethane, Methane, or Nitrogen. Operating temperature range is -133 to +227 °C. Minimum bend radius is 5 × pipe outer diameter. Available in straight or bent configurations. Released in 1996, 25-year service life after filling with working fluid, 2-month delivery. Successfully operated on more than 100 Russian and foreign satellites.
