About
Calian’s 9.2m LEO Earth Station Antenna is designed for tracking low-Earth orbit (LEO) and medium-Earth orbit (MEO) satellite constellations including high-throughput broadband networks. It features a dual-reflector Cassegrain optical design with an elevation-over-azimuth mount with tilt, enabling high-slew-rate operation required for LEO passes. The aluminum main reflector achieves surface accuracy below 0.008 inch RMS, while the carbon fibre composite sub-reflector achieves below 0.002 inch RMS. Supported frequency bands include Ka, Ku, X, C, and S. The system is configurable with an optional RF equipment hub of up to 10 ft diameter, de-icing system, and environmentally controlled hub. Remote M&C is provided via an Ethernet interface with multiple tracking modes. Calian has deployed LEO ground station antennas for satellite operators globally, with heritage on programs including Canadian government LEO satellite tracking.
