About
The Collins Aerospace TELDIX RSI 68 is a high-capacity momentum and reaction wheel with internal Wheel Drive Electronics (WDE) providing angular momentum storage of 14 to 68 Nms. Designed for large spacecraft attitude control systems in the 1,500 to 5,000 kg class, the RSI 68 leverages more than 40 years of TELDIX space-wheel engineering and 7,300 years of cumulative in-orbit operational heritage. The full TELDIX family covers spacecraft from 30 kg up to 7,000 kg with momentum storage spanning 0.04 to 68 Nms, allowing customers to select the right wheel for any mission. The RSI 68 features a modular architecture of independently space-qualified subsystems (rotor, motor, bearing unit, and electronics), hermetic sealing for long service life, and optimization for minimum power/loss torque and volume/mass. It operates as both a momentum wheel and a reaction wheel with a design lifetime exceeding 15 years.
