About
The Dcubed Nano SmartPack Release Nut (nD3SP) is a Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) based release actuator engineered to secure delicate space mechanisms and deployables during their ride to space and release them on orbit. It is highlighted as one of the flattest, yet powerful High-Density Release Mechanism (HDRM) solutions available on the market. This component is easily resettable, user-friendly, and readily available as a COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) product. Key features include a TRL of 9, field-resettability in seconds up to 400 times, short delivery times (8-10 weeks), fully redundant actuation, a smart SMA trigger, ultra-low shock operation, and an actuation sensor. It boasts an axial load (release load) greater than 200N and an ultimate load rating of 500 N pull-out and 1500 N shear. The body size is 74 x 35 x 4mm, with a mass of 27 grams. Both the body and nut are constructed from hard anodized Aluminum 7075-T6, and it operates within a temperature range of -65°C to +75°C. The product is ITAR Free.
