About

SATLATCH is Nimesis Technology’s high-performance mechanism for the deployment and latching of structures or payloads in space. It offers a comprehensive and reliable deployment solution designed to operate under extreme thermal and mechanical conditions, with a verified operational temperature range from -120°C to +120°C. SATLATCH produces zero mechanical shock upon deployment, protecting sensitive satellite structures, solar panels, antennas, and instruments from the impulsive loads that conventional pyrotechnic or spring-based mechanisms generate. Its design is based on shape memory alloy actuation technology and has achieved TRL 8 with demonstrated suitability for satellite and rover applications. SATLATCH can serve as a standalone deployment actuator or as part of an integrated hold-down and release mechanism for deployable appendages.
