About
The Motherboard Module (MBM) 2 Rev. F is an interface board that connects a BeagleBone Black (BBB) processor to a CubeSat Kit (CSK) bus. It provides I/O isolation for digital I/O signals and manages power for the BBB. The module features various configurable interfaces, including RS422 with TI SN65HVD73 transceivers (20Mbps) supporting UART and SPI-over-RS422 configurations, LVTTL single-ended UARTs (UART0 and UART2), and I2C signals. It also includes a 6-pin Hirose DF13 right-angle header (J133) for five BBB GPIO signals, actively isolated and +5V-tolerant, and a 4-pin FPC connector (J132) for the BBB’s UART0 serial port, used for boot control and debug. The MBM2 operates from a +5Vdc system power supply (+5V_SYS) and provides +3.3V logic levels for BBB I/O. It includes an external watchdog timer (WDT) interface and offers unidirectional signals and power-on sequencing/protection between the BBB and the CSK bus connector on a per-GPIO-pin basis. The PCB features a corner hole pattern matching PC/104.
