About
The Saft VES16 11S16P battery is a high-capacity space-qualified lithium-ion energy storage system built from VES16 cells in an 11-series, 16-parallel configuration. It delivers 11,264 Wh at a pack voltage of 29.7–45.1 V and a capacity of 288 Ah, making it suitable for high-power satellite platforms in LEO and GEO orbits.
The system incorporates cell-level circuit breakers and venting, thermal sensors and heaters, an individual cell balancing system (SBS), a power and telemetry connector, and an aluminium plate structure. The 11S16P configuration represents the large end of Saft’s scalable VES16 product family, backed by flight heritage of more than 80 spacecraft in orbit.
