About
The Saft VES16 8S4P battery is a mid-range space-qualified lithium-ion energy storage unit built from VES16 cells in an 8-series, 4-parallel configuration. It delivers 512 Wh at a pack voltage of 25.0–32.8 V and is designed for satellite power subsystems ranging from tens of watts to several kilowatts.
Key features include circuit breakers and cell-level venting for safety, thermal sensors and heaters, an individual cell balancing system (SBS), and a dedicated connector for power and telemetry. The battery supports depth of discharge up to 80% in GEO and 30% in LEO orbits.
