About

The SPS-40 is a high-efficiency electric propulsion system developed by SETS for a wide range of space missions. It enables precise orbit control and high total impulse with minimal propellant consumption, making it well suited for long-duration operations. The system consists of ST-40 Hall-effect thruster(s), a xenon storage and feed system, and a Power Processing Unit, forming a fully integrated and scalable propulsion solution. Designed for reliability and efficiency, SPS-40 delivers millinewton-class thrust with high specific impulse, helping optimize mission lifetime and overall performance. The ST-40 Hall Thruster, a component of the SPS-40, was designed for use as part of the propulsion system for LEO-GEO satellites, and its mass manufacturing capabilities make it a perfect low-cost solution for satellite constellations.
