About

The SITAEL S-200 is an all-electric minisatellite platform with maximum launch mass of 200 kg, offering up to 90 kg of payload capacity — the largest in SITAEL’s S-series smallsat family. Like the S-75, the S-200 uses Hall effect electric propulsion for orbit raising, station keeping, and controlled deorbit. The platform features deployable solar arrays and high-capacity battery storage for extended payload operations, combined with star trackers and momentum actuators for precise three-axis attitude determination and control. Radiation tolerance is up to 10 krad Total Ionizing Dose (TID), enabling longer mission lives in LEO. The S-200 includes autonomous orbit deployment capability, making it suitable for independent deployment from shared rideshare launches into desired operational orbits. Target applications include high-resolution optical Earth observation, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) missions, and telecommunications constellation satellites. The S-200 is offered through STRIVING, SITAEL’s ESA-backed commercial IOD/IOV service, providing full mission support from pre-launch testing through in-orbit operations.
