About
The VORAGO VA41629 is a radiation-hardened ARM Cortex-M4 microcontroller that brings the full performance of the VA41620 — 100 MHz clock, 64 KB data SRAM, 256 KB program SRAM, and 104 GPIO pins — to a cost-effective plastic 176-pin PQFP package. Manufactured with VORAGO’s HARDSIL technology, it delivers the same radiation performance as the VA41620, exceeding 300 krad(Si) TID and 110 MeV·cm²/mg SEL immunity, at a lower package cost suited to commercial space and LEO constellation applications.
Like the VA41620, the VA41629 uses external SPI NVM for non-volatile storage, but omits the Ethernet MAC, SpaceWire, and CAN interfaces, making it ideal for embedded space payloads and control systems where those high-speed protocols are not needed. It retains the full set of UART, I2C, and SPI interfaces; an 8-channel 12-bit ADC at 600 ksps; a 2-channel 12-bit DAC; a 4-channel DMA controller; and 24 configurable 32-bit timers.
The -55 to +125 deg C operating range and HARDSIL radiation hardening make the VA41629 well-suited for CubeSats, SmallSat platforms, and low-cost rideshare missions requiring proven space-grade processing without the premium cost of ceramic hermetic packages.
