About
The VORAGO VA53230 is the lead product of the VA5 family — VORAGO’s first generation of dual-core microcontrollers — and represents a major leap in on-board processing capability for space and defense applications. Each of the two ARM Cortex-M55 cores incorporates a Floating Point Unit and Helium SIMD extensions for digital signal processing and machine learning inference, running at up to 200 MHz.
The VA5 family is offered in both radiation-hardened (RH, >200 krad(Si) TID) and radiation-tolerant (RT, >50 krad(Si) TID) variants. The VA53230 offers substantially more memory than the VA4 family: 512 KB of double-word SRAM, 128 KB of byte-addressable SRAM, and 256 KB of on-chip non-volatile memory accessible to both cores.
Connectivity is greatly expanded: 4x CAN FD, 4x UART, 4x SPI, 4x I2C, 2x SpaceWire, Ethernet MAC with QoS support, dual 12-bit ADCs, 4x DAC outputs, 8 analog comparators, and 4 motor controllers. Engineering samples are targeted for Q3 2026.
