About
The VORAGO VA7230 is the company’s first microprocessor (MPU) product and the first ARM-based MPU with an integrated graphics processing unit (GPU) targeted at space applications. Its dual ARM Cortex-A72 cores operate at up to 1.5 GHz, delivering over 10 GFLOPS via the integrated 3D GPU (OpenCL 1.2, OpenGL ES 3.1). This makes it suitable for on-orbit AI inference, image processing, sensor fusion, and secure communications tasks that exceed the capabilities of traditional rad-hard MCUs.
The VA7230 incorporates a 32-bit DDR3L/DDR4 SDRAM controller with SECDED ECC for large working-memory requirements. Connectivity is enterprise-grade: six Ethernet interfaces up to 2.5 Gbps including a 4-port Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) embedded switch, PCIe Gen 3.0, USB 3.0, SATA 6 Gbit/s, and 2x CAN-FD. Security is built in via a dedicated security engine with cryptographic offload, Arm TrustZone, and secure boot.
Radiation tolerance performance: TID reaches >=30 krad(Si) at high dose rate and >=100 krad(Si) at low dose rate (typical space environment), with SEL immunity above 60 MeV·cm²/mg at 125 deg C. Qualified to MIL-PRF-38535 Class B. In production as of Q2 2026.
