The WiRan X-Band Antenna is a component currently under development, intended for full-duplex communication, specifically for data transmission and swarm-dedicated radiocommunication within the X-band. It is engineered to operate across two distinct frequency bands: 7145-7235 MHz and 8000-8500 MHz. A key feature of this antenna is its full compatibility and easy integration with the WiRan X-Band Diplexer. The antenna is designed to be compliant with the CubeSat nanosatellite standard, making it suitable for small satellite applications. It supports full duplex operation and is configured for Right-Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) by default. Its design emphasizes a light and compact form factor, which is crucial for space-constrained applications like CubeSats. First Engineering Models were expected to be available in 2021/22.
