XRC (eXperimental Receiver Canvas) is an engineering software receiver designed for processing GNSS multiple signals using various approaches. It provides a robust environment for designing and evaluating the performance of state-of-the-art algorithms for GNSS signals, thanks to its extensive configurability and expansion capabilities. XRC efficiently utilizes available hardware resources, including CPUs, RAM, and GPUs, enabling fine-grained or broader processing capabilities. It can operate on a wide range of hardware, from low-spec laptops to high-end servers, and can be delivered as a turn-key solution. The software is capable of processing both low-resolution (e.g., 1bit @10MSps) and high-quality signal samples (e.g., 16bit @400MSps) in IQ BB or IF formats. It supports GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and Beidou constellations and offers various techniques and processing algorithms to address different GNSS challenges. XRC outputs a wide range of standard metrics such as code delay, carrier phase, Doppler, C/No, and correlator information, and generates Signal Quality Monitoring (SQM) information like auto-correlation function, correlation loss, and power spectrum density when high-resolution samples are provided. Its modular, object-oriented design allows for easy expansion of baseline techniques through injection point interfaces. XRC outputs raw data and metrics in text format and RINEX files, allowing users to integrate their own PVT engines. Use cases include Signal Quality Monitoring, analysis in harsh environments, and receiver representativeness through flexible configuration.
