About
The Model 935 Rotary Servo Actuator is one of the highest performance rotary servo actuators available on the market. It is offered with both digital and analog communications interfaces. The actuator can be customized to provide up to ±90 degree angular excursion in a slightly longer package, allowing customers flexibility based upon the architecture in the system to have a drop-in servo actuator. Key features include integrated position servo loop control, non-jamming mechanical stops, a 4-stage spur gear train assembly, and a stainless steel output shaft with a 0.5 inch SAE spline. It utilizes a brushless permanent magnet motor design with high temperature capability, electronic stops to limit input command, and an NTC thermistor in the motor for temperature sensing of motor windings. Outputs for current, velocity, and temperature telemetry are provided, with a digital RS-485 electrical protocol for the signal interface. A thermal management option is also available for high-altitude applications. The robust structural design, mechanical stops, low weight to power performance, and customizability are significant benefits. Typical applications include control surfaces requiring servo actuation in unmanned air vehicles (tactical, medium long endurance, MALE/HALE), control surfaces and speed brakes for target drones, and utility actuation such as throttle control, doors, and spoilers. It is also suitable for electric aircraft, eVTOL, eSTOL, air taxis, and urban air mobility vehicles for tilting mechanisms, flight control, and landing gear.
