About

The Model 290 Linear Servo Actuator is designed for high performance applications, featuring a digital communications interface and a robust structural design. It provides 1,500 lbf at 0.26 inches per second for up to 7.75 inch strokes. A key feature is its homing sequence, which determines the end of travel on startup, ensuring proper positioning along its stroke. This flexibility allows for a drop-in servo actuator solution for various systems. The actuator incorporates two NFeB Permanent Magnet DC brush motors and two failsafe electromagnetic brakes. It boasts low endplay and high efficiency steel gearing, with a trunnion mount for fixed end and traveling nut endfitting, and a ball screw/nut power screw assembly. Typical applications include flight control surface actuation in unmanned air vehicles (tactical, MALE, HALE), optionally piloted air vehicles (OPV), utility actuation such as throttle control, doors, and spoilers, and electric aircraft (eVTOL, eSTOL, air taxis, urban air mobility vehicles) for propeller pitch control, tilting mechanisms, flight control, and landing gear.
