About

The 3D PLUS CASPEX 1.3Mpx SWIR Space Camera Head (3DCM880) is an all-in-one space-qualified short-wave infrared imaging module integrating a 1280×1024 pixel global shutter InGaAs CMOS sensor with a user-reconfigurable FPGA-based processing architecture. The SWIR spectral capability enables imaging in constrained-light environments and through atmospheric haze, complementing the visible-band CASPEX 4M and 12M variants.

Housed in a compact 40×40×44 mm³ package weighing 140 g, the module includes integrated DC-DC converters, processing memories, and storage memories, along with configurable embedded image processing capabilities. The 77-pin PGA (CE4c) interface provides 22 LVDS pairs, JTAG configuration, and 5V supply connectivity, using the same form factor as the 12M variant for mechanical interchangeability.

Sensor performance includes a maximum frame rate of 134 fps, 240 e⁻ read noise, 28 ke⁻/s dark current at 25°C, and 170k e⁻ full well capacity. Radiation performance includes TID tolerance greater than 40 krad(Si) and SEL LETth greater than 60 MeV.cm²/mg. Operating temperature spans -55°C to +70°C.

The CASPEX SWIR is suited for scientific imaging, Earth observation in the SWIR band (700 nm–1700 nm), navigation in low-light conditions, and rendezvous and docking applications.
