About
The Apex Comet Mini is Apex’s large-class satellite bus, designed for missions requiring multi-kilowatt power and multi-tonne payload capacity. It targets the emerging market for orbital computing (data centers in space), direct-to-device constellations, and large synthetic aperture radar (SAR) platforms.
With a payload capacity of up to 3,000 kg and 8 kW base power (20 kW payload peak), the Comet Mini enables mission scales previously only possible with traditional GEO satellites, but in LEO for lower latency and cost efficiency.
The Comet Mini is optimized for missions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in LEO: orbital magazine platforms (orbital supply depots), high-throughput broadband, and next-generation ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance). Being sized for larger launch vehicles including Starship, it represents Apex’s pathway to very large proliferated architecture.
