About

The 1879 ВМ 6Y is a high-performance digital signal processor designed for a variety of demanding applications. Its architecture is built upon the new generation VLIW / SIMD processor core NMC4. The processor integrates two such cores, NMPU0 and NMPU1, with each core comprising a RISC processor and two distinct 64-bit coprocessors. The first coprocessor is specialized for performing vector-matrix operations on integer data, supporting variable lengths from 1 to 64 bits. The second coprocessor is dedicated to floating-point vector operations. This processor is intended for tasks such as processing broadband radar signals, including various types of digital filtering, Fourier, and Hadamard transforms. It also supports image processing, encompassing different filtering techniques and MPEG encoding/decoding. Other applications include navigation, high-performance signal switching, and use in CDMA and TDMA base stations for cellular communication.
