About

The Express-AM6 telecommunication satellite is designed to provide a wide range of high-quality telecommunications services, including multiprogram digital TV and radio broadcasting and Internet access for millions of people across Russia, as well as government users and commercial customers. This satellite carries 11 antennas and 72 active transponders operating in the C-, Ku-, Ka- and L-band. It is based on the Reshetnev Company heavy-class Express-2000 platform and has a 15-year designed lifespan. Express-AM6 was orbit raised to reach its geostationary orbital slot, utilizing its electric propulsion to raise itself from the transfer orbit to the target orbital slot of 53 degrees East.
