The Gonets-M satellite is a communication spacecraft designed for deployment into a low circular orbit at an altitude of 1500 km. It utilizes a gravity-magnetic attitude determination and control system (ADCS) and has an electrical power system (EPS) providing 200 W. The satellite has a mass of 280 kg and is designed for a lifetime of 5 years. It is launched using a Rokot carrier rocket with a Briz-KM upper stage from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. The first launch of a Gonets-M satellite was on December 21, 2005.
