About

GLONASS-K is the third-generation Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) spacecraft developed and manufactured by ISS Reshetnev. Compared to the GLONASS-M, GLONASS-K is significantly lighter (935 kg vs 1415 kg) due to an unpressurized bus design, offers a 10-year design lifetime, and transmits navigation signals in three frequency bands including the new CDMA signal in the L3 band compatible with other GNSS systems. GLONASS-K operates in medium circular orbit at 19,100 km altitude in the GLONASS constellation of 24 operational satellites.
