GLONASS-M Navigation Satellite

GLONASS-M is the second-generation Russian GLONASS navigation satellite developed by ISS Reshetnev. It was the primary operational spacecraft of the GLONASS constellation from 2003 through the 2010s. GLONASS-M transmits navigation signals in L1 and L2 frequency bands (FDMA), provides satellite clock accuracy within 5 ns, and operates in a 24-satellite MEO constellation. The spacecraft bus […]

About

GLONASS-M is the second-generation Russian GLONASS navigation satellite developed by ISS Reshetnev. It was the primary operational spacecraft of the GLONASS constellation from 2003 through the 2010s. GLONASS-M transmits navigation signals in L1 and L2 frequency bands (FDMA), provides satellite clock accuracy within 5 ns, and operates in a 24-satellite MEO constellation. The spacecraft bus is pressurized and the design lifetime was extended to 7 years compared to the 3-year lifetime of the original GLONASS satellite.
