Solar Array Drive Assembly

ISS Reshetnev develops and manufactures Solar Array Drive Mechanical Units (SADMU) for GEO satellite platforms. These mechanisms continuously rotate the solar array panels to track the Sun and maximize power generation throughout the satellite lifetime. RESHETNEV produces SADMU variants for the Express-2000 heavy-class platform and the Express-1000 medium-class platform and their derivatives. The drive assembly transmits power and data signals between the rotating solar array and the fixed spacecraft body via a slip-ring contact unit.
