Redwire’s Roll Out Solar Array (ROSA) is a next-generation solar power solution engineered for high performance, scalability, and simplicity. It utilizes strain energy for deployment, eliminating the need for motors or complex mechanisms, and features a proprietary roll-up stowed configuration. An integrated photovoltaic blanket assembly results in a compact, lightweight, and modular design optimized for a wide range of space missions. ROSA is designed to reduce dependency on complex mechanisms and failure-prone motors, offers volume-efficient compact stowage allowing more space for critical systems, and its rolled configuration provides exceptional durability against launch forces. It boasts improved mass optimization over traditional solar wings and accommodates all types and sizes of photovoltaic cells and flexible concentrators through its modular photovoltaic blankets. The operational voltage range is suitable for any mission profile, from 12V to over 300V. Optional retractable wings guarantee maximum adaptability. ROSA has heritage on LEO, GEO, and deep space missions, including the DART mission and the International Space Station (ISS), where eight ROSA wings have been supplied to NASA, with six already deployed and operational, enhancing the ISS power supply by over 20 kW per wing over 10 years.
