About
The TubeSat 3.0 Personal Satellite Kit is one of the most affordable nanosatellite kits available worldwide. It features a hexadecagonal (16-sided prism) cross-section made from custom PCBs and precision laser-cut aluminum, with flat faces for mounting solar cells. Version 3.0 consolidates many functions onto fewer boards, increasing payload volume and reducing assembly to under 15 minutes with only a screwdriver — no drilling, tapping, or soldering required.
The standard 1U TubeSat measures 8.94 cm OD x 12.7 cm long with a maximum mass of 0.75 kg. With standard electronics installed, the platform mass is 0.5 kg, leaving 0.25 kg and ~288 cc (~5 cm of tube) for user payload. 2U and 3U variants accommodate larger experiments.
TubeSats deploy to a 310-km polar orbit via IOS NEPTUNE rockets, with orbital longevity of 3 weeks to 3 months depending on solar activity. Over 180 pre-paid customers are on the IOS manifest. Available with or without launch service.
