About

The KazSat-3 telecommunication satellite was built under contract with the Republic of Kazakhstan Republican Center of Space Communications. It is based on the Express-1000HTB unpressurized bus and is designed for a 15-year lifetime. The satellite’s primary purpose is to provide communication, television broadcasting, and data transmission services across the Republic of Kazakhstan. Reshetnev Company was responsible for the design, development, assembly, integration, and testing of the KazSat-3 satellite. Additionally, the company constructed the primary Ground Control Segment in Akkol and a backup Ground Control Segment in Almaty. Reshetnev Company also provided personnel training services for RCSC and ongoing in-orbit operation support throughout the satellite’s operational life. The satellite features 5.3 kW of payload power and has an approximate mass of 1743 kg. KazSat-3 was launched on April 28, 2014, as a paired launch with Loutch-5V.
