About
TeraBIX is MBRYONICS’s radiation-hardened silicon photonic transceiver for high-speed, low-power optical data transmission in space and high-performance computing applications. It operates at data rates up to 56 Gb/s NRZ or 112 Gb/s PAM4, featuring radiation-hardened electronics and a hermetically sealed design, with ultra-low power operation of less than 5 mW/Gb/s. TeraBIX integrates Silicon Photonic Integrated Circuits for both transmitter and receiver, uses pluggable fiber connectors for easy integration and maintenance, and targets Optical I/O applications with co-packaging alongside FPGA/ASIC for payload-to-payload, chip-to-chip, and board-to-board connectivity. Published figures show 224 Gbps total throughput at 0.735 W typical power (3.3 pJ/bit) and 448 Gbps total throughput at 1.916 W typical power (4.3 pJ/bit).
