About

The Radiation Refrigerator is a passive device for cooling radiation receivers to cryogenic temperatures, rejecting heat to deep space. It achieves a working temperature of 78 K and handles total heat dissipation of ≤350 mW from receivers. Suitable for orbits from 830 to 36,000 km including synchronous-solar, geostationary, and highly elliptical orbits. Released in 2003 with 10-year service life and 6-month delivery time. Adaptable to customer requirements. Flight-qualified on Meteor-M and Electro-L spacecraft.
