Coarse Sun Sensor — Cosine Type
Miniature single-detector radiation-hardened coarse sun sensor (10 g) with approximate cosine field of view for solar array pointing and sun acquisition.
Description
The Redwire Coarse Sun Sensor (CSS) Cosine Type is an ultra-compact, lightweight single-detector sun sensor providing approximate cosine and conical symmetry field of view capability. Radiation-hardened to more than 100 krad (Si), it supports solar array pointing, sun acquisition, and fail-safe recovery. Requires no input power. Custom baffles can restrict or tailor the FOV to meet any stray-light requirement. At only 10 g and under 3 cm in any dimension, it is suitable for CubeSat and small satellite applications.
